RFID
The RFID1 reader in the dialler works via radio waves. You can link one tag per contact to the alarm's RFID reader. We supply three tags as standard. With a linked tag, you can log in to the alarm without a password. See Contacts | Adding and editing: Linked Tag for more information about linking a tag.
Although RFID offers many advantages, you may choose to disable RFID in the following situations:
Radiation exposure
The RFID system uses a low level of electromagnetic radiation. Some people are concerned about the possible health effects of prolonged exposure or the mutual interference of devices in an environment with many RFID readers. There is currently no conclusive scientific evidence that low levels of RFID radiation are harmful. Nevertheless, some people choose to disable RFID.
Incorrect registration in the logbook
In practice, users often lend tags to each other or there is a single tag attached to the dialler that everyone uses to log in. As a result, the logbook only registers changes for one contact. This is not always desirable. To prevent misuse of tags, you can disable the RFID reader.
