Use Remote setup in the Octalarm Portal to access a dialler’s dashboard and change settings remotely.

Note: Make sure the dialler is connected to the internet and you have enabled the web portal. See Settings | Interfaces | Web portal for instructions.

  • Go to https://portal.octalarm.com.
  • Log in with your company account or user account.
  • Select the relevant dialler under Devices.
  • Click Remote setup.
  • Enter your dialler username and password. The portal connects you directly to the dialler.
  • Click Login.

You now open the Octalarm alarm dialler’s dashboard remotely and can adjust the settings using the familiar icons. The dialler applies your changes immediately.

Click the Octalarm logo or Dashboard in the main navigation to return to the Remote setup dashboard.

Note: Before using remote setup, check the following:

  1. Is the mobile connection stable?
Make sure the mobile network shows at least one bar (top left of the display). If it does not, consider an external antenna such as the Adésys AA-109 (10 m cable) or AA-119 (20 m cable).

  2. Does the Octalarm alarm dialler have access to the network?
Make sure the wired network uses the correct firewall settings. See Firewall company network. If required, consult your system administrator.

  3. Does the alarm dialler receive an IP address?
If it does not, check the router or switch. You may also need to adjust the duplex speed. See Settings | Interfaces | Ethernet eth0.

Good to know: Remote setup works in the same way as using the dialler locally. See Settings.

What remote setup CANNOT do

  1. Change network-related settings (GSM, Ethernet).
  2. Enable or disable the web portal.
  3. Reset the dialler to factory settings.

What setup CAN ONLY do

  1. Network: download a TCP dump.
  2. Import and export system settings.
  3. Create a log file.
  4. Manage ARA-Pro Next settings.

Tip: Want to use remote setup on the go? Download the free Adésys Alarm App. See Adésys Alarm App.
