When you connect an Ethernet cable, the alarm dialler is automatically assigned an IP address. This IP address allows you to use remote setup for you dialler locally. See Remote setup (local) for further explanation.

The DHCP is set to Automatic by default.

Note: it is highly recommended to set a fixed IP address if you have a firewall in the corporate network.

Use fixed IP address

If you do not plan to set a fixed IP address, you can skip this section.

Good to know: eth1 always works with a fixed IP address.

  • Go to Settings.
  • In the navigation, scroll to Ethernet.
  • Select Ethernet (eth0) or Ethernet (eth1)1.
  • Click Edit.
  • Set DHCP to Manual and enter the details. These settings depend on your provider. Customise Ethernet settings shows you what information you need. For this information, please refer to your system administrator and/or provider.
  • Click Save.

Customise Ethernet settings

By default, this is enabled. Clicking the tick will disable the component. As a result, you no longer send alarms via Ethernet.
