Octalarm Connect
The Octalarm Connect service ensures that dialling out is possible at low, fixed costs per month via GSM and/or VoIP/SIP directly (with Adésys servers monitored 24/7).
Different subscription types
We offer 2 different subscriptions, both with the choice of Connect (GSM and VoIP) or VoIP only:
- Octalarm Connect: contact controlled (Touch and Touch Pro)
- Octalarm Connect XL: network controlled via Octalarm Link (Touch Pro with Octalarm Link licence and ARA)
The difference between Connect and Connect XL is in the number of call-out alarms. Pairing with process computers automatically creates more alarm messages, requiring a larger bundle.
You choose VoIP only (or VoIP only XL) if you ONLY want to use our Voice over IP telephony, i.e. making calls over the Internet. This could be, for example, because you want to call with your own SIM card, do not have your own VoIP provider but want redundancy via VoIP or for countries where our GSM SIM card has no coverage. See Where Connect has coverage for an overview of this.
Good to know: if you did not choose Octalarm Connect during onboarding, you can still activate this all-in service on the dialler or via remote setup.

Good to know: in the US, 2G and 3G are turned off so the dialler will dial out via VoLTE over 4G. This is not possible with the current Octalarm Connect M2M SIMs (from KPN). KPN is implementing the technical developments needed to roll out VoLTE via these SIM cards. Unfortunately, it is not yet clear when VoLTE will actually work.
