Country codes
Tip: Always enter phone numbers in the international format. For example, enter a Dutch mobile number as +31612345678, where +31 is the country code.
Note: Set the correct country code if:
- You do not use the international format for contacts’ phone numbers;
- You use a PSTN connection that does not support the international format.

Country code explanation
The alarm dialler uses country codes to convert phone numbers for dialling out via PSTN, GSM, and SIP. The dialler converts numbers to:
- the international format for GSM and SIP;
- the local format for PSTN.
Local format (PSTN): area code – subscriber number
The area code consists of two parts:
- the long-distance access number (usually 0);
- the specific area code (the first 3 or 4 digits of a telephone number).
The subscriber number is the unique extension.
Example of the local format
Phone number Adésys: 0174 794022
Area code | Subscriber number |
---|---|
0 (long-distance access number) 174 (specific area code) | 794022 |
International format (GSM and SIP): international access number – country code – area code – subscriber number
Good to know: The international format does not include the long-distance access number.
- The international access number is a series of digits used to start an international call.
- The country code identifies a specific country. Each country has a unique code.
Example of the international format
Phone number Adésys: 00 31 174 794022
International access number | Country code | Area code | Subscriber number |
---|---|---|---|
00 | 31 | 174 (specific area code) | 794022 |
