Good to know: an online portal has been developed especially for Octalarm alarm diallers: Octalarm portal https://portal.octalarm.com. You can use this portal for FREE!

You can create one company account with several users and link several diallers to it. The diallers can be in different locations. This gives you a total overview of all alarm diallers within your organisation.

Benefits of Octalarm portal

  • Remote setup: global access to your Octalarm diallers via mobile internet (4G) or fixed internet (via UTP cable).
  • Insight into current alarm statuses of multiple diallers in different locations.
  • FREE with any Octalarm alarm dialler.
  • Makes helpdesk support and answering technical questions easier.

Tip: are you an installer? Then too, you can create a FREE account and easily install and manage all your (end) clients’ alarms remotely.

Note: ensure that the dialler has
1. at least software version 2.2.2;
2. a connection to the internet and the web portal enabled. See Settings|Interfaces|Web portal for further explanation on how to enable/disable the web portal on the dialler.

Quickstart Octalarm portal

  1. Create company account

  2. Pair alarm dialler(s)

  3. Add user(s)

Create company account

  • Go to https://portal.octalarm.com.
  • Click Create company.
  • Fill in the requested details and click Create company. For confirmation, you will receive an Email to the specified Email address.
  • Click on the link in the Email to complete the registration.
  • Enter your company details and click Create.
  • Click Ready.

New password for company account

If you do not remember the company account password on the portal, you can reset it.

  • Go to https://portal.octalarm.com.
  • Click New password.
  • Enter the Email address of the company account.
  • Click New password. You will get the message Email sent, click the link to change password.
  • Click the link in the Email.
  • Enter a new password and repeat it for verification in the 2nd entry field.
  • Click Save.
  • Click Ready.

Pair alarm dialler(s)

  • Log in with the company account you just created; the dashboard is the devices overview.
  • Add a device by clicking + or Add Device.
  • Enter the serial number and the connect code. This can be found in the Octalarm alarm dialler’s system information under Settings|General|System Info. If you are not already logged in, this information on the dialler can also be accessed by clicking the GSM signal strength icon.
  • Click Search. Once the dialler is linked, you will see the message Found, linked to ... (at ... it shows how many companies the dialler is linked to).
  • Click Add.

Note: repeat steps 2 to 5 for each dialler you want to link with your company account.

Add user(s)

  • In the navigation at the top, go to the Users tab.
  • Click +.
  • Fill in Name, Email address, Authority, Language and type a personal message if necessary.

    Good to know: only users with the authority Administrator can receive monthly invoices for Octalarm Connect by Email.

    Note: keep in mind that if the Email address is from an accounting programme, this programme must be able to handle verification. You can check this with your accounting programme provider.

  • If desired, tick Receive paid invoices by Email1.
  • Click Add.

Note: repeat steps 2 to 4 for all users you want to invite for your company account.

Accept invitation

To verify the invited user received an Email at the entered Email address.

  • Go to the received Email.
  • Click the link in the Email.
  • Enter the requested data.
  • Click Save.

Edit details

Good to know: due to the implementation of the GDPR2, we are not authorised to make changes within YOUR company account on the portal. You can edit all (company) data yourself.

Note: only users with the authority Administrator have rights to edit data.

Account

  • In the navigation at the top, go to the Account tab.
  • Read more where applicable.

Profile

Under Profile are the details of the main administrator of the company account. Here you can change the name, Email address, language and password for this administrator’s login. Furthermore, you can tick here whether this person will receive a monthly invoice for Octalarm Connect. Confirm your changes by clicking Save.

Good to know: you can NEVER delete a main administrator; only modify it.

Company (company details)

Under Company are the company details of the account:

  • Company name
  • VAT number
  • Address details
  • Telephone number of contact person

You can customise all these yourself. Confirm your changes by clicking Save.

Linked apps

Overview of active apps for the main administrator. See Adesys Alarm App for further explanation.

Users

  • In the navigation at the top, go to the Users tab.
  • Read more where applicable.

Change existing data

  • Click on the relevant user.
  • Click Edit.
  • Make the desired change(s), e.g. Email address or authority.
  • If desired, tick/untick Receive paid invoices by Email1.
  • Click Save.

Good to know: you cannot edit the top user here; as this is the main administrator of the company account. You can edit the details of this user under Account|Profile.

Delete users

  • Click on the relevant user.
  • Click 2x on Delete.

Devices

  • In the navigation at the top, go to the Devices tab.
  • Select the desired dialler.
  • Click on the settings icon (). You will see the following details of the dialler:
    • the serial number;
    • the type (Touch | Pro | ARA);
    • the software version;
    • the IMEI, ICCID and MSISDN number;
    • whether the SIM card has been activated;
    • whether a subscription is active and, if so, which one.

Delete device

  • Click Delete.
  • Click Delete again.
