I suspect that the GSM module of the alarm dialler is defective. What should I do?

If you suspect that the GSM module is defective, please contact our helpdesk. They can be reached Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on telephone number +31 174 794024. During this phone call, we will assess whether there is a defect in the GSM module or the alarm detector. It could also be a faulty setting.

There is a fault and the dialler needs to be returned. What now?

Step 1: the helpdesk will give you an RMA number for return shipment. Note this number on the address sticker and/or add a note with this number to the box.

Step 2: always note down the Octalarm login details (username and password) or enclose a tag from a contact with the authority of Administrator or Installer.

Step 3: do you have a replacement detector in stock?

  • NO: proceed to step 4.
  • YES: fine! This ensures that your customer's alarms are secure.
    • Does your customer have an active Octalarm Connect subscription?
      • Yes, then the helpdesk links the active subscription to the replacement (temporary) device.
      • Your customer is helped; alarms are securely arranged.
      • Continue to step 4.
    • No active subscription?
      • Proceed to step 4.

Step 4: return the dialler, the GSM module and, if necessary, the SIM card to:

After examination and possible repair, we will return the Octalarm alarm detector. If the repair falls within the guarantee period, we will bear the costs.
