GSM module appears defective – what should you do?

If you suspect the GSM module is defective, contact our helpdesk. You can reach us Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., at +31 174 794024. During your call, we will help determine whether the problem lies with the GSM module, the alarm dialler, or a setting.
For quick service, take the following steps:
- Have the serial number of the Octalarm alarm dialler ready; find it in the device;
- Call our helpdesk: +31 174 794024.
If the defect is confirmed and the device must be returned: how does it work?
Step 1: The helpdesk will issue you an RMA number for the return. Write this number on the address label and/or include it on a note inside the box.
Step 2: Write down and enclose the Octalarm login details (username and password), or add a tag from a contact with Administrator or Installer authority.
Step 3: Do you have a replacement alarm dialler available?
- No, proceed to step 4;
- Yes, your customer's alarms remain protected.
- If your customer has an active Octalarm Connect subscription:
- The helpdesk will transfer the active subscription to the replacement (temporary) device;
- Your customer will stay protected by alarms;
- Then continue to step 4.
- If there is no active subscription:
- Proceed to step 4.
- If your customer has an active Octalarm Connect subscription:
Step 4: Return the following items:
- The dialler
- The GSM module
- The SIM card (if supplied by Adésys or if instructed by the helpdesk)

After our examination and any necessary repair, we will return the Octalarm alarm dialler to you. If the repair falls within the warranty period, we will cover the costs.
