PSTN
To connect an analogue line, use the PSTN socket in the alarm dialler.
Note: we do not recommend the use of an ATA (Analogue Telephone Adaptor) with this. Keep in mind that if you do connect an ATA, the line voltage may give a false reading.
Customise PSTN settings
- Go to
Settings
. - In the navigation, scroll to
PSTN
. - Click
Edit
and adjust the fields below. - Click
Save
.
Component:
By default, this is enabled. Clicking the tick will disable the PSTN component. As a result, you no longer send alarms via PSTN.
Tip: to maintain redundancy, we strongly recommend leaving the component enabled.
Prefix number:
When a prefix is required within an on-site PBX to dial out via an analogue connection, you can add a prefix to all phone numbers here in one go.
Wait for dial tone:
By default, this is enabled. Clicking the tick will disable the wait for the dial tone before the voice call starts.
Check line:
By default, this is enabled. This protects the PSTN connection with a line voltage security message (system failure).
Good to know: the security message occurs after 5 minutes of no power on the line. Therefore, if you disconnect the cable when testing, you will receive a system failure only after 5 minutes.
Clicking the tick disables the security message and the dialler no longer checks the PSTN connection.
